About Me
Sarah Kiel, RD, CSSD
I became a dietitian because I was frustrated by the constant whiplash of nutrition headlines, the spread of misinformation on social media, and advice that felt disconnected from real life. I also became a dietitian because I genuinely love food. Researching it, cooking it, talking about it, sharing it, and, of course, eating it! Food is one of my favorite ways to connect with people and cultures, and I believe nutrition should enhance your life, not complicate it.
My philosophy is simple: nutrition should be delicious, practical, and sustainable. Anything too restrictive, expensive, fussy, or joyless simply doesn’t work long term. My work centers on helping people build a healthy, trusting, and respectful relationship with food and their bodies, grounded in science and lived experience.
I’m a Registered Dietitian and Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) with a Diploma in Sports Nutrition from the International Olympic Committee. I’m deeply passionate about performance nutrition and love helping athletes and active people fuel in ways that support both results and enjoyment. Whether you’re training, competing, or simply moving for fun, I believe fueling well should feel empowering, not overwhelming.
Professionally, I bring over a decade of experience across higher education, corporate wellness, retail food, and private practice. I currently serve as Health & Wellness Manager at an Ivy League University, where I help shape nutrition strategy, menu development, allergen management, and food literacy initiatives across residential colleges, retail dining, and large-scale events. Previously, I led company-wide wellness programs for a major grocery retailer, managed and mentored teams of wellness professionals, developed FDA-compliant nutrition messaging, and served as a trusted on-air and print media expert.
Through my private practice and consulting work, I partner with individuals, brands, and organizations to deliver evidence-based, inclusive, and consumer-relevant nutrition solutions, from intuitive eating and sports nutrition to food labeling, media strategy, and community engagement. I’m especially skilled at translating complex nutrition science into clear, actionable guidance that resonates with real people.
Outside of work, I’m an avid cyclist, runner, and climber who feels most at home outdoors. I love experimenting in the kitchen (we rarely repeat a meal unless it’s exceptional), traveling with food as the central theme, and exploring how culture, sustainability, and pleasure intersect on the plate. I’m also a new(ish) mom, currently navigating the wonderfully chaotic world of infant and kids’ nutrition, hands-on learning at its finest.
If you’re looking for grounded, science-based nutrition support, or a knowledgeable, engaging partner for your brand or organization, I’d love to connect. Reach out to set up an exploratory call and see if we’re a good fit.
